Accessibility in Recreational Areas
In recreational areas, parks and squares, all the aforementioned concepts must be taken into account, parking lanes, vehicular crossings and, fundamentally, guarantee accessible circuits to be able to travel them in their entirety, differentiating grass and paved areas, firm for rest, placement of furniture and autonomous and safe displacements. In the play sectors, it is important to ensure integration and use for all children. Ensuring firm, anti-slip and well-drained floor surfaces gives autonomy and safety. To enhance or differentiate play areas with contrast of color and textures, tactile maps, aromatic vegetation, elements with sound, power in the senses and allow to make the environment and the location of blind or low-vision children imperceptible and the integration of all users.

Children’s Park «Pedreira do Chapadão», Brazil
This pioneering inclusive playground, completed in March 2018, was entirely financed by the private sector under a consent decree agreement between a private corporation and the Secretariat of Environment and Sustainable Development. Situated in the Jardim Chapadão neighborhood on the northern side of Campinas, it occupies one of the city’s highest vantage points. This locale is characterized by a prominent shopping center, upscale residential buildings, and gated communities, underscoring its prestigious status. The playground encompasses two inclusive swings, a seesaw, and a carousel, all designed with full accessibility in mind, extending to its surrounding areas.

Parque das Águas: This is the third inclusive playground, built in March 2019 as part of the efforts that led to the Plan Multisectoral of Early Childhood in Campinas. It is located in the neighborhood of Jambeiro Park, in the south of the city, which includes an industrial area. The space is fully accessible and has a swing, a rocker and a carousel inclusive.

INCLUSIVE OUTDOOR GYMNASTICS STATIONS
In addition to the inclusive playgrounds, the city of Campinas has also built several inclusive stations for outdoor physical exercise which can be used by people who use wheelchairs. In compliance with the principles described in the national standard NBR 9050, these stations have accessible ramps, safety belts and drop-off bars height in all aerobic exercise equipment for the upper extremities.
