While We’re Young — a debut mini-album by a fictional indie duo, dedicated to youth and the emotions that are intensely felt during this period of life.At the heart of the project is the story of two teens just beginning to understand themselves, their relationships, and the world around them. They don’t try to sing about things they have never experienced. Their music emerges from ordinary moments: meeting friends, late-night walks, first romantic feelings, arguments, reconciliations, and the fear of inevitable change.Five English-language compositions are unified by the story of one summer that gradually transforms into a memory. The main feature of the project is that the virtual performers aren’t just singing about youth—they are experiencing the age when all these events are happening to them for the first time.

About the Performers
June & August — a virtual indie duo composed of two young performers connected not only by music but also by a romantic relationship.June and August are typical teenagers who gradually learn to express their experiences through creativity.June prefers to keep to himself with his thoughts. For him, music becomes a way to articulate things that are difficult to put into words. August, on the other hand, is accustomed to openly expressing emotions and noticing beauty in the simplest moments.Their personalities are different, but that is precisely what makes their joint creative work compelling. The duo’s music is built on personal stories, experiences, and impressions. They sing about what is happening to them right now, without trying to appear more experienced or older than their age.
JUNE — 19 years oldVocalist, songwriter, and project founder. A bit introverted, observant, and romantic. He loves nighttime walks, his guitar, and jotting down random thoughts in his phone’s notes. It is he who begins working on the album.
AUGUST — 18 years old
Juna’s vocalist and girlfriend. More open, emotional, and spontaneous. She loves shooting her friends on film, traveling without a plan, and saving small memories.
Joins the project during the recording of the last song.
The Story Behind the Duo’s Creation
Initially, While We’re Young was conceived as a solo project by June.
During the summer, he recorded songs about events happening in his life and the lives of his friends. He was inspired by long walks, chance encounters, first serious feelings, and the realization that his familiar life was gradually changing.
By the end of the summer, he had four compositions ready. However, while working on the final song, June felt that the album was missing something.
He wanted to conclude the story not with solitary memories, but with the feeling that the most important moments of life are shared with other people.
So, he proposed to his girlfriend August to record the final track together.
Her voice gave the song a new dimension, and the story, which began as a personal diary of one person, transformed into a memory shared by two.
This is how the song We’ll Remember This came to be, becoming the couple’s first collaborative track.
After completing the album, they decided to continue making music together. From that moment on, June’s solo project evolved into the indie-duo June & August.
Album Concept
The core idea of the album is the value of the present moment, which a person often only recognizes once it becomes a memory.
«While We’re Young» tells the story of one summer through the eyes of a teenager who is gradually growing up and beginning to perceive familiar things in a new light.
At the beginning of the album, summer feels endless. There is plenty of free time ahead—meetings, new acquaintances, and events.
More complex emotions gradually emerge: falling in love, attachment, anxiety about the future, and the desire to preserve everything as it is now.
By the end of the album, the protagonist understands that time cannot be stopped, but the lived moments can be preserved in memory and music.
The story concludes with the appearance of a second voice. It symbolizes that memories belong not only to one person but to everyone who shared those events.
Thus, the album speaks not only about growing up but also about the formation of a new musical duo.
Album History
The album’s story is divided into five musical chapters.
The first track is dedicated to the beginning of summer—a time filled with so much possibility, where happy days seem like they will never end.
In the second chapter, the protagonist begins to experience romantic feelings. Ordinary meetings take on special significance, and the relationship with a loved one gradually changes.
The third track transports the listener back to a state of carefree abandon: late-night drives, friends, loud music, and a sense of freedom.
The fourth chapter marks an emotional turning point. Summer is drawing to a close, and for the first time, the protagonist contemplates that familiar moments will never be exactly repeated.
The album concludes not with a breakup, but with the beginning of a new shared story.
