01. Concept
When endless winter made life outdoors impossible, people sheltered in fortress-cities. A whole life unfolded behind the concrete walls, built upon massive heating machines.
But the blizzards grew stronger, supplies ran out, and one day the residents had to leave. They left the heating running—still hoping to return.
The machines continued to warm the empty city. Year after year, automation shut down unoccupied spaces until the heat remained only in the engine rooms. Now, pumps and heaters sustain each other, consuming the last of their resource just to preserve themselves.
Outside, the blizzard swallows the towers and bridges. Fuel reserves are dwindling, and with each winter, fewer machines are operational. The remaining ones continue to keep each other warm.
