When creating this piece of furniture, I drew inspiration from revolving bookcases and shelving units. I was most interested in how the internal space is structured in them: the shelves are divided by vertical partitions, creating individual sections for books.
I admired the very principle of this division and the rhythm of the vertical wooden slats. They simultaneously function as part of the structure while establishing the piece’s characteristic aesthetic.
In my project, I chose to use this system as a foundation, but I aimed to make the object more compact and multi-functional. The result is a small bookcase that can also serve as a nightstand, a mobile storage unit for books and magazines, and an ottoman.

The object is a square book module, divided into several sections for storing books, magazines, albums, and other printed materials. I decided to add wheels underneath so the object can be easily moved around the room. The main body also rotates on its axis.
A soft cushion is placed on top. This adds another function to the object: the ottoman can be used as a small footrest. The soft element makes the otherwise quite rigid wooden structure visually more comfortable and suitable for a living space.
In the center of the cushion is a wooden insert. This creates a small, firm surface upon which one can place a cup, vase, or another object.
The primary target audience for this project is men and women aged approximately 30–55 with a middle to upper-middle income level.
I present this subject matter to the interior design sensibilities of individuals who value not only the functionality of furniture but also its aesthetic appearance and material composition. Such a consumer is interested in interior design, architecture, art, photography, fashion, or other visual disciplines.
A particularly important segment of the audience consists of people who continue to purchase and collect printed materials: books, magazines, photo albums, exhibition catalogs, and other publications. Therefore, it is important for them to have a dedicated space where they can conveniently store this collection.
