My name is Maria Moiseeva. I graduated from the Institute of Design and Spatial Arts at KFU with a specialization in «Communicative Design» and completed retraining in digital and industrial design. I am currently aiming to enroll in the Master’s program in «Art Direction» because I see my role not just as creating graphics, but as managing cohesive visual ecosystems where design functions as a strategic instrument.Even during my undergraduate studies, I defined a field where design acts as the link between culture and the audience. My final qualification project, «Multi-Format Guide to the Volga, ” was my first experience building a complex navigational and communicative system. Coursework and academic papers focused on ethno-cultural heritage taught me how to translate local codes and traditions into the language of relevant visual formats. For me, Art Direction is the ability to manage context. Studying this discipline will help me deepen my practice in project management, confront real-world challenges, and view new angles and aspects of professional activity. My social mission as an Art Director is to systematically unlock the cultural potential of regions, and to do this, I must master the skills of building a visual strategy „from concept to realization.“Participation in the „Taurida.Art“ projects, victories in the „Magistrum“ and „I Am a Professional“ Olympiads, and work in the „Creator“ scientific club helped me develop teamwork, research skills, and the ability to design with meaning.
This education will give me the opportunity to master professional methods for leading creative teams, learn how to develop briefs, and control quality across all stages of creating environmental and communication projects. In the long term, I plan to apply these skills to developing the cultural potential of various regions. I intend to connect my future dissertation to the semiotics of small urban spaces—an investigation into how visual language constructs local identity.
