Markov Chain GUI Abstraction & Stochastic Sequencer for PD

Markov Chain GUI
Abstraction for PD, utilizing a Markov chain to determine the probability of an element in the chain being lost.

The chain consists of 6 links. Each link has its own slider for convenient control. Each slider automatically adjusts its range based on the other elements. The set settings are saved when the patch is closed. The number of copies of the abstractions in the patch is unlimited; they operate independently.

The Interior of Abstraction
Stochastic Sequencer for PD
Six-Voice Stochastic Sequencer based on Markov Chain GUI Elements
The sequencer comprises three controlled elements and one randomly selected «Master» element. Each controlled element is composed of six Markov Chain GUI abstractions. Each element is synchronized with a global metronome clock signal. The metronome can operate autonomously or accept tempo synchronization via MIDI from an external source.

The first element controls the votes and playback probability.

The second element controls the durations passed to the voices.
The third element controls the duration of playback time.
The «Master» element, after playing the selected number of measures, triggers a signal for a new, randomly determined generation.
Thus, the sequencer can autonomously reproduce pseudo-random and predefined rhythmic patterns that are synchronized with each other, featuring various fill levels. Its applications are wide-ranging—from drum machines and melody generation to controlling other sequences.
