Imitari — a series of five sound installations that explore the phenomenon of nature’s reproducibility and the fine line between the natural and the artificial. The project addresses nature as an object of imitation, centering on the sensation derived from the difference between the original and its artificial counterpart. At the heart of the inquiry are the subtle characteristics that allow a person to recognize an authentic natural event and distinguish it from the most precise, yet still artificial, reproduction.

Special attention is given to human perception of nearly identical yet unnatural objects, as well as the resulting feelings of anxiety and alienation. This effect is achieved using the «uncanny valley» principle—a concept traditionally describing the discomfort that arises when encountering an object that is almost indistinguishable from the original but retains signs of its artificiality.Through sonic and spatial interventions, the project creates images of artificial nature, balancing recognizability with distortion, attraction with repulsion. The aesthetic of the works intentionally adopts a somewhat anxious, synthetic, almost plastic quality. The five installations exist as independent artistic statements, but simultaneously form a cohesive system where individual elements interact to create a unified sonic environment. The works are designated by sequential numbering: Imitari 1, Imitari 2, Imitari 3, Imitari 4, Imitari 5.
