
The theme of Dmitry Flowerkov’s project was the transformation of the exhibition space into a fashion boutique in which its range, in turn, becomes art objects rather than what it is intended for.

The artist, working with a variety of finishes and focusing on the exact reproduction of historical details, gives costumes an additional cultural value, turning them into symbolically rich images.

By working in their favorite sewing, biserowedding, embroidery, and knitting techniques, Dmitri Flowers has expanded his collection of clothing objects specifically for the exhibition, supplementing it with headwear, shoes, and accessories — bags and boxes. In doing so, he preserves the traditional elements of his creation — massive orders, ribbons, tiny lizards, and beads.

In the hypertrophic decorative work of Flowerkov, there are also direct links to artistic pathers in other eras, and a conscious sarcastic grotesque, which is intended to give the spectator a double reaction: at the initial level, it must respond to the visual element, which, through internal irony, causes him to think about the rituals that cause distortion, distortion in his own ideas about fashion, beauty, and peace.
