The HSE CREATIVE OPEN online competition by HSE ART AND DESIGN SCHOOL
The goal of the competition is to gather original ideas and spectacular projects in all areas of design, contemporary art and fashion on one platform and to gain the attention of the creative community to the development of jobs in the industry.
Everyone is welcome to participate in the competition, regardless of their geographical location or professional status.
«One Day the Sun Will Explode»: a short animated film by Elizaveta Prokopenko
About the nomination
The competition welcomes original animated works that showcase the unique creative style of the author. Experiments with visual language, unconventional solutions, and a personal perspective on the world through the lens of animation are encouraged. Works can be created in any technique—from traditional hand-drawn animation to modern digital methods, stop-motion, and mixed techniques. The key focus is on artistic integrity and the creator’s personal stance.
The task of the nomination
Create a short animated film with a duration of 1 to 5 minutes. The work should reflect a unique creative vision and demonstrate mastery of the chosen animation technique.
Terms and requirements
The competition accepts completed animated films with a runtime of up to 5 minutes, created in any animation technique. Conceptually developed projects with detailed visualizations of key scenes are also allowed. The project should be submitted in the form of a presentation, which must include the concept, key frames, and a link to the finished work. The presentation should clearly convey the author’s intent and artistic vision for the film.
