The international student HSE CREATIVE OPEN online competition on the basis of HSE ART AND DESIGN SCHOOL
The goal of the competition is to gather original ideas and spectacular projects in all areas of design, contemporary art and fashion on one platform and to gain the attention of the creative community to the development of jobs in the industry.
Students from any university, regardless of the location they are based at, can participate in the competition.

About the nomination
The competition evaluates the visual design of a board game based on a pre-provided template for the game board and rules. Participants are tasked with developing a comprehensive visual solution that encompasses all aspects of the game: from the design of the game board, taking into account functional zones and gameplay mechanics, to the design of cards, tokens, and other game elements. A crucial part of the work will involve creating illustrations of characters, items, and locations as required by the concept, as well as designing the game packaging and cover. All elements, including the layout of the rules, must form a stylistically cohesive piece.
Terms and requirements
In assessing the submissions, the jury will pay close attention to the artistic integrity and stylistic unity of all game components, as well as the functionality of the proposed design and its clarity in conveying game information. Novelty of the visual concept and a creative approach to solving the task at hand are highly valued. It is essential that the design aligns with the target audience and theme of the game, while also ensuring that the technical quality of execution prepares the layouts for production.
Participants should demonstrate not only artistic skills but also an understanding of the specifics of board games, where the visual design should enhance the gaming experience and aid in understanding mechanics, making the gameplay intuitive and engaging.
